Did you hear the latest news about our tech today? I read an article about the team up of yahoo and google and today, google released an FAQ to clear the ever ‘controversial’ issue about advertising prices. Yay, money talks eh?
Hmmm, I can’t wait to see a goya (google+yahoo) or yago(yahoo+google) search engine
The Internet search giant posted an FAQ on its proposed partnership and its affect on advertising prices on its public policy blog Thursday and followed it up with another posting Friday on it’s potential affect on competition.
In both cases, Google makes the argument that the deal would not harm competition nor lead to increased advertising prices.

Keeping in step with rival Web browsers from Microsoft and Google, Mozilla has announced a “privacy mode” for Firefox 3.1. The update is scheduled to be released in beta form in October.
In privacy mode, a browser doesn’t record a history of visited sites or save cookies from those sites.
Line Between Public and Private
On the Mozilla Wiki, developer Mike Connor listed three goals for the privacy mode.
“There should be a clear line drawn between your ‘public’ and ‘private’ browsing sessions,” he wrote, so users can’t be tracked when they are doing things they consider private. Information on visits can still be explicitly saved, he continued, such as per-site permissions, bookmarks, and so on.

I am not surprise reading this article, the fact that they upgrade/change their technology gadgets in a blink of an eye..it’s expected that they’ll use it.
So here it goes, teachers are using smart phones as part of the educational tool. Wow, let’s expect more enhancement or additives in the next few ..days or months? You guess
Trends & Innovations – Friday
Teachers and professors are starting to use cell phones as educational tools in their classrooms, after previously banning them as distractions.
Abilene Christian Univ. in Texas is giving two-thirds of its freshmen a smart phone that they’re expected to use for receiving handouts in class and brainstorming. About 100 high school freshmen in N.C. are using phones during their math classes in a program sponsored by handset gear maker Qualcomm.
They use the phones to play math games, network among themselves on problems and watch animation showing problems being solved.

International Internet traffic kept growing in the last year, but at a slower rate than before, and carriers more than kept pace by adding more capacity, a research firm said Wednesday.
The findings by TeleGeography Research are important because some U.S. Internet service providers say they are struggling with the expansion of online traffic, and are imposing monthly download limits on heavy users. The figures from TeleGeography don’t exactly correlate to average Internet usage by U.S. households, but give an indication of wider trends.
TeleGeography said traffic grew 53 percent from mid-2007 to mid-2008, down from a growth rate of 61 percent in the previous 12 months.

Now I am considering on buying one for my nephews
, it’s very affordable yet I need to think about it first because I don’t want them to get used to playing games. Errr.. but anyway, it’s very affordable now huh? Imagine from its original price that is $400+ to less than $200..
WOW, that’s a big drop of price and it’s only been a year since they released the first xbox model (I think).
Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O) said on Wednesday it plans to cut the U.S. prices of its Xbox 360 video game machine, lowering the price of its entry-level console to $50 below Nintendo Co Ltd’s (7974.OS) top-selling Wii.
The move makes the Xbox 360 the first game machine of this generation of consoles to sell for less than $200, a key mass-market price that Microsoft said historically has accounted for more than 75 percent of all machine sales.
The lower prices ahead of the crucial holiday shopping season — a period of time when the video game industry racks up most of its sales — puts pressure on rivals Nintendo and Sony to cut the prices of their machines. source

This is cool
, a door lock that can be controlled online, in a mobile phone or in a computer, it basically means that I can open and close it my cell phone or my computer
that has an internet connection (of course).
I’ll just make sure that nobody can log on to my site or hacked my account so I don’t get hitched
. But seriously, this is amazing, nice leap of our technology gadgets huh?
What if locking the front door of your home while you’re away were as easy as hopping on the Internet?
At the CEDIA Expo in Denver this week, Ingersoll-Rand Co.’s Schlage unit is showing off door locks that can be wirelessly set or opened via the Internet, from a mobile phone or a computer.
The battery-operated locks have keypads that are locked and unlocked with 4-digit access codes (or old-fashioned keys, as a backup). Users who forget to lock a door and want to enter their code remotely can hop onto a Web portal or an application added to their mobile phones. These password-protected portals also let people change, activate or disable the codes.

Hmm, this doesn’t sound right to me. They are monitoring our web presence? And after doing it, they’re all claiming that “it’s just a test and it already ended”.
Oh well, so how about the information that you accumulated? Where does it go?
Tsk tsk..
The nation’s largest Internet service providers all say they haven’t partnered with Silicon Valley startup NebuAd Inc. to monitor Web surfing and deliver targeted advertising to their subscribers. Here is a look at six smaller service providers, however, that have conducted trials.
The companies say all the tests have ended, often to review privacy and related issues. No provider is known to be currently using NebuAd.

We are barely breathing because of the cable outage in the house
. It was so boring and we’re tired of watching movies during our breaks.
It’s hard without the cable connection plus we don’t go out that often so dealing with the quite atmosphere inside the house is almost unbearable. Thank God and its already monday and directv is here to connect our new cable.
I don’t think any American household can live without cable
, it’s just a part of the peoples’ lives in here and I was able to adapt it.
