Snorkeling at Sharks Cove!

Hawaii really is beautiful!

It’s not just because of the highly publicized tv ad commercial that you can see on tv most of the time but because it really is beautiful. We’ve been living here for a year now and we never skip a weekend that we do not go to the beach. We snorkel, we boogie board ( I mean my husband since I can’t because I’m pregnant), we go crabbing, fishing and just about anything that you can do on the beach. You just can’t get enough of the blue ocean and the white sands.

Not to mention the beautiful weather and the warm water!

Take a look at these pictures we took last weekend. These were taken from Shark’s Cove in North Shore. Sharks Cove is one of the many snorkeling sites that you can visit in Oahu. I think the most famous one is Hanauma Bay. Sharks Cove’s fishes are not as big as the ones in Hanauma but there are plenty and of different kinds to swim and enjoy with, so it really doesn’t matter. Plus if you are a tourist, you pay an entrance fee in Hanauma Bay while  it cost nothing in Sharks Cove. Just pack your snorkeling gear, take your gps with you and drive to Sharks Cove. (more…)

What a beautiful scenery last sunday!

That’s how we (basically) spend our weekends (lol), roaming around Honolulu particularly on the Makai (beach) side of the island. Lately, we’ve been visiting the Northern part of the island which they called the windward side. They call it windward because it is where the wind comes.

While there is a windward side, the other side of the island where  the wind leaves, is called  the Leeward side. Windward usually experience moderate to heavy rains while leeward is a little dry.  (more…)
