I’m working (full time)…finally!

January 20th, 2009 | 1 Comment | Posted in Living

Hello everyone :)

How are you doin’ lately? I hope you’re all doing good. If you’ll ask about me, I’m pretty good.Pardon me for being out in the blogosphere lately, this time my excuse reason is valid. I finally got me a regular work ;-) , after all the waiting and resting and surfing and doing nothing :D whew..so happy to have something to do.

So who hired me?

It’s a call center company and they hired me as one of their sales service assistant, a pretty much customer service rep only that I am assigned solely on sales. They hired me last week and today is my first day of training. I thought it would be ’scary’, it’s a challenge when you get out from your comfort zone. So the thinking that you might get out of place will always be there.

But actually, it wasn’t scary and there was no OP situation..none at all. In fact, most of the trainor’s, employee’s and my batchmates were all professional and approachable.

So my training day was very productive, I am a little ahead of the game hence I’ve had like 7 years of experience in customer service. It’s pretty much the same work as I have before, there are minor thing that differs and those were; it’s a big company, tstrict rules, policies & guidelines are enforced and we used a certain software to complete a certain task. But as for taking/processing the orders and giving customer satisfactory service, it’s still the same.

I meet a new found friend today too, she’s my batchmate and her name is Sandra. Of course I never went there to make friends, I went there to work yet earning a new friend is like a bonus :)

So that’s why I’m almost on Hiatus..but I promise I’ll keep in touch and I will keep you updated.

Welcome back to the blogosphere Evz :-) , I missed you a lot.

It’s been months ( I believe) since I last talk you. Ev took off from blogging because she was reviewing for her MA exam and she just finished taking the exam few days ago that’s why she’s back in the blogosphere right now.

To all of you who didn’t know Evz, Evz is one of my few close friends. She was my former officemate and we were ‘partners in crime’ :D

I love and adore this woman so much. She’s one of the nicest person I’ve ever seen and met in my entire life. And hey I am so blessed to have her :-;

Blogger to wordpress import/export of files

June 16th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

This is a snap sample of the FTP software that I am using. The window shows the internal files of my Bes’s new domain. (Click on the image to enlarge)

I am currently exporting my bes blog files to a new blog software, the wordpress from her old blogger files. I love using FTP when I do blog tweaks. I’ve learned how to use FTP (File Transfer Protocol) from my previous work. Anyway, FTP software is so comfy to use and its pretty fast (but if course it also depends on your connection).

The first thing to take note when you want to export your files to your own domain is that you need to search for the compatibility of these two softwares. Meaning, they need to communicate and it needs to allow you to transport the file.

Recently, wordpress, blogger, blogware, RSS, Blog Journal and etc allows you to import and export files between each others platform. On the blogger to wordpress export of files, my experience was when I tried exporting my old blogger files to my domain, it was not successful. So I played around with it and luckily I have an old free wordpress blog and I tried using it.

It worked. So the rest was very easy. Importing or exporting of files from the same blog platform is really easy.

The famous 5 minute wordpress blog set up. Actually its not 5 minutes but few seconds. It depends on how fast you type the required fields shown above and how fast is your internet connection. Right after you hit the “Install Wordpress’ button, your blog is already created. (Click on the image to enlarge)

The second thing that you need to take note is the software configuration, like database set up and etc or better yet, get a domain and hosting that offers CPANEL and includes Fantastico. Fantastico is very easy to use and is (I could say) recommended for new users. With Fantastico, you’ll just hit the button “Create a wordpress blog” and you fill up the required fields like Name, email, password..etc and that’s it, your wordpress blog is created right away.

IF you don’t have the fantastico, everything..even the setting up of database needs to be manually created by you. I also notice that each hosting provider offers different style of control center so it needs readings and research before you start your blog tweaks. This way, you can save a lot of confusion and hopefully it runs smoothly.

I do get frustration sometimes, this cannot be avoided BUT as long as you are willing to do it, you can do it. I’ll post the rest of my blog tweaks on my next entry ;-)

We went fishing on Father’s Day ;-)

June 16th, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

Good morning everyone!! :-)

How was your weekend? Ours was so busy :) , I went with hubby on his work last Saturday that’s why I had a day off and yesterday we went fishing. It was awesome. I really had a great time looking at the fishes playing my bait :D .

We went fishing in Silver Spring at Cloudcroft, NM. Cloudcroft is 30 to 40 minutes away from our house. It’s almost 10,000ft elevated from the ground. So that means that it is located on the top of our mountains. Cloudcroft has beautiful trees and the temperature is 10 to 15 degrees cooler than ours in Alamogordo.

Let’s go back to fishing..

I enjoyed a lot watching the fishes playing my bait, it seemed that they know that it was a bait so they’re just playing with it. It took me 20 minutes to catch my first fish, I know it sounds cheezy but it was an awesome experience..though I know that its impossible not to catch a fish on that pond. For heavens sake it was a commercial pond and I guess they are adding at least 500 to 1,000 fishes every week..hehe.

It’s just a simpleness in life that I noticed and appreciate too much. My husband is a fishing addict and so I’m beginning to adapt it too. We’re always partners in crime :-D

U.S. videogame sales up 37 percent in May: NPD

June 12th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

U.S. sales of video game hardware and software were $1.12 billion in May, up 37 percent from a year earlier, with Take-Two Interactive Software Corp’s (TTWO.O) “Grand Theft Audio 4″ the best-selling title for the month. source

You bet, even a 3 or 4 year old kid knows how to play video games. I would expect that this percentage would go up on the next cycle.

I have a question though, would you allow your little tikes to get hooked with video games? I somehow don’t agree with this idea..

I’m not at home

June 11th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

I am in the base today, I had a check up and I had a UA lab, the result is not yet released so I need to wait :) … this is the reason why I wasn’t online in my blogs until 10 am.

I also accompanied hubby to his PT exam. He’s in the military and military personnel here are required to undergo and pass a PT (Physical Training) exam every year. Oh boy, if you don’t have the stamina, you will fail. The body measurement (waist line, height, weight) is also included.

I adore the military personnel here in the States plus well, they have no reason not to be fit. They have a gym equipped with complete exercise training machines, they have a track field, an aerobics, yoga..I think almost everything just to keep your body fit.

Also, Carlo told me that it is a requirement for all of the staff to spend at least 2 hours in the gym to work out daily. So my guess is that, instead of working 8 hours, you only need to work 6 hours and hit the gym for 2 hours. Nice huh?

You know I am a gym goer too, we have a mini-gym in the house and if we can’t drive going to the base; we jog around our subdivision and lift weights at home. It’s very healthy, it takes hubby’s stress away and it also help me boost my immune system.

I have a question? Are you a gym goer too? Or if not, how do you keep a healthy body?

So anyway, the BX connection is a little fast today..I mean compared to the last time I use it. I have a lot of things done today. Thank God for that.
