50 cents payout for 1 blog post with 200 minimum words req?

January 16th, 2009 | 2 Comments | Posted in Blogging

Have you been to 3p lately? I was shocked when I saw the new payout for every assignment they posted, there’s as little as 50cents. Yes, 50cents. I’m speechless. Obviously, there’s some kind of ‘recession’ that’s going on in online earning.

I guess $5 is fine but going below than that is not that fine. Remember that if you own a site, you need to pay for your domain and hosting and earning 50 cents per paid post can’t pay for the monthly/yearly bills.

I just hope that you did not purchase 2 or more domains because I know it’s going to hit you below the belt. Take note that when you earn $600  and above per fiscal year, you need to pay tax and few weeks from now, it’s tax time once again.

Whew, life is getting tougher isn’t it?

Happy New Year!!

December 31st, 2008 | 5 Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

almost..

Happy New Year!!

I can already smell 2009 :D . 2008 was a fairly good year for me, my first year of adjustment on living in a foreign land was quite good. It may not be perfect but everything was satisfactory.

I don’t have any new year’s resolution :) , yet hubby and I have milestones for 2009. 2009 would be kind of a busy year for us and I’m excited about it. With regards to my blogs and sites, I have no new plans yet. I’m planning to continue blogging while trying to get a regular job.

How about you? Any plans for the incoming year? God bless with your dreams and plans and let’s go knock our dreams off ;)

Online earning recession?

December 21st, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Uncategorized

There’s been opps on PPP and SS lately and thank God for that. It’s really been dry on these two advertising market lately, the payout are even getting smaller especially for the ones that didn’t have any PR.

It kind of $uck$ but hey, that’s just the way it is. As I’ve said in my earlier post, it’s recession time right? Before, we usually earn at least $30 a day but lately, you’ll be lucky to earn $15 and up (if your blog doesn’t have any PR).

Whew..

Opps

December 19th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

Hmm, this is weird, all of the written article that I posted earlier did not went through and all I’ve got is a blank page with a title.

Hmmmm…

Anyway, as I was saying in my earlier post, there were a lot of opps in PPP and SS today and I hope you went by in there so you were able to reserve some.

I am a PPP and SS member and I was able to get some and I’m quite happy about it. It’s getting harder and harder to scope some opps lately. It might be because of the recession? Lol.

But yeah, that’s one of the possible reason. And also it is because there are a lot of bloggers nowadays. A lot means hundreds and thousands of bloggers so that matters too.

What faster WIFI connection? It’s pretty darn SLOW

December 11th, 2008 | 1 Comment | Posted in Uncategorized

ARGH!@#!

The internet connection at Hardback Coffee (the one in hastings) sucks is slow..very slow. Like I can bring me a bed and I could take a nap before 1 whole page loads. Whew! It seemed like most of the “FREE Wifi” on the places I’ve visited doesn’t have a fast connection.

Why is that? Is it because it’s free? I mean the owner did not get a faster one..hmmm. or most of the places I went are not a good one for internet access?

Mind you, most of my table mates right now are complaining about the connection too and half are gone saying that they would not come back again. I overheard one customer recommending Arby’s, the food is good and the connection is fast.

I’m not sure if the customer can demand for a better connection (hence it’s already free) but don’t you think the owners (of these cafes) should have been monitoring their service, if it’s satisfactory or not? Just my 2 cents.

I guess I have no choice right now but to re-read ‘Breaking Dawn’ :P. I’ve read the novel 3 times already, so ‘m on my fourth re- ..haha.

***

We’re out of town right now that’s why I’m (again) complaining ’bout the connection.

pictures from Pacman’s game..as promised

December 10th, 2008 | 3 Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

As promised 2 nights ago, here’s some of the pictures I had with my girlfriends during Manny Paquiao’s fight.

We watched Pacman’s fight in one of my friends’ house and it was awesome to spend time with friends. It feels like you’re in the PI (Philippine Island) :) , eating fil foods and laughing with friends. Would you believe me if I tell you that until now I haven’t felt any homesickness yet? That’s true.

Of course thanks to the technology, my family here, my friends and blogging. Hehe. I’m lucky huh?

How did you choose your domain name?

November 19th, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

I have a question for you, how did you choose your website’s domain name?

If you’ll ask me about my domain name, I never thought that I would own a site. This website was a gift from my former boss. One day while we were eating out (him and his wife invited me to eat out) and we were talking about our blog sites, he just popped the question that if I would have a website, what would be the name.

Out of nowhere ( I have no clue whatsoever on what will happen next) and I thought of it as a joke, I said I want the world to know my name so I want it to be my full name. He smiled to me and said “are you serious?”. I replied “Yeah. Positive.”

When we get back to the office he then told me that he purchased a domain for me and it’ll be ready after 24 hours. And I said to myself “OMG!@#!!”. I can’t believe it myself. Those were the times when buying your own domain was ‘expensive’ not to mention the hosting and I can’t afford it. And it was really a special gift for me and I valued and appreciate it so much -thanks again boss.

SO that’s how this blog started. But anyway, with regards on picking up a domain name. I don’t really encourage you to buy a domain name with your name, I mean look at those famous sites (yahoo, google, msn, wikipedia and etc) , these websites was able to build their name without using any of the owner or CEO’s name on it.

I think, the shorter, the better. Short because it’s easier to memorize and good for your first time visitors. Plus hey, only those people who are close to me or people who know me will have the will or want to search Gladys Muana, others don’t. Unless (probably) if I can leave footprints/ignite your curiosity/be controversial and etc then you will scan the web about me ~lol. But reality check, I’m just an ordinary person who’s like you, shouting my world in my own word and even if I know I have lots of friends, let’s face it..not all of my friends are into ‘blogging’.

Also, I clearly understand keywords play a big role/good part in terms of getting a good position on any search engine. But the thing is, do you have those keywords? Do you know SEO? Good if you do but ‘not so good’ if you don’t.

it’s so chaotic in the blogosphere right now and getting at least 200+ unique visitors or maybe 200+ hits per day is a good start. that is why, opt for a shorter and easy to memorize domain name and start your way from that. Your domain name needs to coincide with your topic too, or if not, you can create a sub-title showing what your blog is all about.

Just my 2 cents :-)
