Hawaii really is beautiful!

It’s not just because of the highly publicized tv ad commercial that you can see on tv most of the time but because it really is beautiful. We’ve been living here for a year now and we never skip a weekend that we do not go to the beach. We snorkel, we boogie board ( I mean my husband since I can’t because I’m pregnant), we go crabbing, fishing and just about anything that you can do on the beach. You just can’t get enough of the blue ocean and the white sands.

Not to mention the beautiful weather and the warm water!

Take a look at these pictures we took last weekend. These were taken from Shark’s Cove in North Shore. Sharks Cove is one of the many snorkeling sites that you can visit in Oahu. I think the most famous one is Hanauma Bay. Sharks Cove’s fishes are not as big as the ones in Hanauma but there are plenty and of different kinds to swim and enjoy with, so it really doesn’t matter. Plus if you are a tourist, you pay an entrance fee in Hanauma Bay while  it cost nothing in Sharks Cove. Just pack your snorkeling gear, take your gps with you and drive to Sharks Cove. More »

It’s just mangoes..

August 11th, 2010 | No Comments | Posted in Food, Hawaii

Whoosh!! Something fell from the tree, 10 feet away from me!!

It scared me, I thought it was a branch or something heavy and you know I can’t run, my reflexes are not that sharp, I’m very clumsy (I’m 21 weeks pregnant) and I didn’t want to scare Fox (he’s very skittish).

Oh well, it’s just mangoes :), so to get even (lol), I brought it with me and will be my fruit snack later :-D

Want some?

I am back from a LONG hiatus

June 16th, 2010 | 5 Comments | Posted in Blogging, Featured, Hawaii, Honolulu, Living, new mom, pregnant

I am on my 14th week on the family way (pregnant) and I’m still vomiting and nauseating like I’m still on my first trimester :( . I don’t retain much of my daily food intake and I’m not even eating good. I have no appetite at all.

It’s a little depressing but I don’t want to get depressed since it’s bad for my baby. I started calling my Dr yesterday and she prescribed me with a pill for my excessive vomiting and nauseating and I’m hoping that this will work. I so want to be healthy for my baby.

And that’s the latest update of my life. I know I haven’t been updating my blogs for a year, it’s just that, I cannot find a balance between being a career-person, a full time wife and a full time student that’s why I have to gave up my blogging.

When I found out that I am pregnant and that it is a difficult one, I made my decision to quit my job and just concentrate on starting to be a mom. There was no regret on me quitting my job, I do love working but it’s time for me to start building my own family.

Ohh I forgot to mention, I worked at Gategourmet HNL before, as an information specialist. I took care of the company vital info specs wise. I had fun working with my buddies back there, to Arnold, Kimo, Fred, Nat, Turia, Chef Aldo, Chef Aaron, David Painter..thanks a bunch for the wonderful time I had with you guys.

And to all my readers/followers..thank you so much for dropping by and visiting me. I’m here and I’m back :-)

Halo halo anyone?

Halo Halo

Halo halo anyone? Lol .. I had one when we went to Max’s Manila in Waipahu. Max’s is a Filipino Resto (chain) that’s famous back home. It caters mostly filipino delicacy like sisig, dinuguan, pork chop and etc.

If you happen to stop by in Honolulu, don’t forget to check it out! It’s worth the drive and the traffic time especially if you missed some foods back home.

Here’s the address and contact info:

North Shore: The waves are fierce but beautiful!

Northshore, Oahu, Hawaii

The beautiful Waimea Park shoreline @ North Shore, Oahu, Hawaii

What a beautiful scenery last sunday!

That’s how we (basically) spend our weekends (lol), roaming around Honolulu particularly on the Makai (beach) side of the island. Lately, we’ve been visiting the Northern part of the island which they called the windward side. They call it windward because it is where the wind comes.

While there is a windward side, the other side of the island where  the wind leaves, is called  the Leeward side. Windward usually experience moderate to heavy rains while leeward is a little dry.

Living in Honolulu: In the eyes of a filipina

October 29th, 2009 | 3 Comments | Posted in Featured, Hawaii, Honolulu, Living

Howdy everyone :) !

Carlo @ Northshore (Oahu, Hawaii)It took me ages to write back again in my lil online journal but hey I’m back and I plan on being present most of the time. The last time I rant here was the first few days we arrived in Hawaii (Honolulu to be specific).

My husband Carlo is in the AF and he’s assigned here for his next duty assignment so we moved here (the entire family). I wouldn’t say we had a smooth sailing adjustment and I wouldn’t say we had a hard time either, I would say, we’re in the middle of both.

That was merely because, we’re so used on a slow paced environment ( we live in a county back in the mainland) and living in a big city is very different. The transition was challenging but eventually we did ok and so here I am starting my rants again :) . More »
