My I-751 timeline (Removal of Condition)

Here’s my I-751 timeline or the removal of condition timeline. Removal of condition because I arrived here in the States on a fiance(e) visa and I was on a conditional visa for 2 years (that’s the approved AOS).

It has to be removed inorder for me to legally stay in the States. I-751 (if approved) will give an applicant a 10 year unconditional visa/greencard. It is renewable OR you can also apply for a US citizenship after some conditions are met.

So here it is..

I-751 timeline (Removal of the condition/10 year green card)

09/15/09 — sent sponsor change of address (since we relocate)
09/16/09 — applicant online change of address

10/05/09 — cashed check
10/06/09 — received 1 year extension
10/22/09 — received biometrics schedule

11/20/09 — Approved and Document production

*Total time of processing 2 months and 6 days.

My AOS (Adjustment of Status) Timeline

Here’s my AOS timeline , please take note that each application is handled differently so we may never have the same timeline. Yours might be faster or sometimes slower but nevertheless this is mostly the sequence of how it works.

One great advice, make sure to submit ALL the required documents needed to avoid delays. The more RFE’s (request for evidence) you get, the longer the process is. As always, you can download all the forms at www.uscis.gov.

AOS TIMELINE

06-19-07 -TD shot
06-28-07 – Completed filling up the AOS forms
07-06-07 – Vaccination Transferred
07-16-07 – Sent the AOS package to USCIS (Chicago)
07-18-07 – USCIS received our package
07-26-07 – Our application entered the USCIS system
07-31-07 – NOA1 via snail mail
08-04-07 – ASC Appointment Notice(Biometrics)
08-25-07 – Biometrics DONE
10-18-07 – Interview APRROVED
10-29-07 – Received the welcome Notice
11-02-07 – Received my green card

*Total time of processing 4 months and 2 weeks.

*** I know this has long been overdue but it’s better late than never lol. Sorry, I was really really busy and posting an update about my K-1 process became my last priority.

My heart breaks for Japan

My heart goes out to the people of Japan :-( .. I have no idea what’s going on with the world right now but it’s really really heart breaking.  It was a shock  especially when I saw the intensity of the quake. Imagine an 8.9, a tsunami is always in the window. And true to what I think will happen, when I flipped the channel to CNN; a tsunami warning was issued (of course Hawaii is included, we’re kind of ‘on the way’).

I also saw the live footage of the tsunami when it hit Japan, it was horrible, very scary and it feels like my heart just stopped beating for a moment. And for following days, they were bombarded with aftershocks after aftershocks, not to mention leakage of radiation from their nuclear plant and lately, the eruption of one of their volcanoes. SAD..SAD..SAD..

Is the world really coming to its end? :-(  And ohh, reports said that our axis tilted from the quake in Japan. So what do we do now?

To be honest with you, when the tsunami warning was issued in Hawaii; I panicked. I have  a 3 month old son and I was so scared for him. Hawaii is an island right and theres water everywhere. There were a lot of questions in my mind..where would we run, what would we do..you know, things that normally pops out your mind when there’s tsunami that’s coming. Of course, its not my first time; we have the same scare last year but, having a kid is different. I’m just glad that my husband is very calm and composed. I was able to calm myself after an hour or 2.

But anyway, let’s all try to help Japan, a small donation will go  long way. And prayers too, prayers can help big time. Let’s all pray for guidance and a stronger us, so we can survive the test of times.

Hello

Hello everyone!

How’s everyone doing? I’m approaching my 35th week of pregnancy that’s why I’ve been in and out on blogosphere. But good news though, I’ve already filed my US citizenship, almost done decorating my baby boy’s room and I’ve been getting lots of sleep lately.

I guess my body is preparing for our big day. I had a ‘hiccup’ with my pregnancy but everything’s alright now. I guess my son is so excited to came out yesterday, I had to rush to the hospital because of pre-term labor. I had to stay there for about 4 hours, was injected some meds, was observed and thank God they let me go.

I’m not sure what triggered it but I guess I was overstress. That’s why I’m slowing down. There are things that I can just automate but not this one lol.

Anyhow, I hope you had a great long weekend last week and btw, Belated Happy Veteran’s Day!

I signed up at Odesk dot com as a contractor

Since I’ve heard a lot about Odesk.com from friends, I decided to browse the website and join tonight. Odesk is a website where employers and contractors (freelancer) meet on the internet. So I signed up as a contractor and it’s FREE.

As of right now, I’m only allowed to apply 2 jobs per 12 hours and the website calls it as a quota. It’s only 2 since I have not taken any Odesk test (yes they have a test to know if you’ve reviewed the websites’ guideline and etc, which to me, it makes sense; you have to know what you’re signing up for; it protects both you and the website’s reputation and in turn it gives you a better chance to find a job since you can apply for more in a 12 hour time frame) and I still have to complete my profile (add skills, experience and etc).

I will review all the guidelines tomorrow and will finish my profile and hopefully it’ll help me get another part time job. I will let you know (post it here) if everything goes well.

I am not recommending the website nor the website paid me to be feature here, I only wrote this to share some thoughts about the website. If you have any experience about Odesk, please do share it with us.

On my 30 weeks pregnancy

That’s my latest snapshot, taken last night in one of my friend’s house. With me is Jeanette Klein and Venus Davis. I’m on my 30 weeks (going 31 next week) pregnancy :-) , few more weeks to go and I’m popping out LOL.

I can’t wait to see my baby boy. I am so looking forward on my due date, I want to see him, hug him, take care of him :-) . I guess this is how it’s always been especially when you’re a first time mom. My friends kept on telling me that I look so blooming while being pregnant (does this mean, I look like sh** when I wasn’t? lol) and I’d say, it’s true. Everyday is a beautiful day, my new day will always mean that I’m almost seeing my baby boy :-) .

I know I’m boring you but I’m just sharing some of life’s joy :-)

I hope you’re having a blessed weekend!

Integrity

I went to the Commissary (grocery store for military family) today and while parking on the “Expectant Mother”, the next reserved parking space made me smile. It was reserved for the “General”.

It reminded me of my conversation with my husband some months ago. One day when we were shopping at the BX (Basic Exchange, basically a mini-mall for military family; located inside the base), I became so curious as to how would you identify if the person that’s parking on the reserved parking spaces were really are they claiming they were.

So I asked him “Babe, how would you know that these people who parked in these reserved parking spaces are what they’re claiming to be?”

He then smiled and told me “Integrity baby, integrity”.

Whew..I was ashamed of myself. Why did I even asked such stupid nonsense question. I know for a fact that that’s how they live their lives (for heaven’s sake I’ve been married to a uniformed guy for years now and I should have known better), I always admire and respect my husband’s job and profession.

Buanga bitaw ato uy..
