I know what you mean about needing insurance here or anywhere in the world you own a car.
A few months after I bought my car, while turning into property, a crazy motorcycle driver decided to pass all the backed up traffic and jump in the left lane and zoom around a blind curve. He smashed into the drivers door. His bike was not damaged but my drivers door had to be replaced. The total charrge was about 50,000 Php. The deductible was 10,000 Php which I made the motorcycle driver pay. He left his bike at my house as colateral.
I would have been real upset if I did not have insurance to pay the repair.
