I’ve got here a clipping of a very alarming news article I’ve read so far today. I’m not sure what’s going on with the technology lately but so far all I’ve read are full of glitch and failure.

Europe’s leading telecommunications company, Deutsche Telekom, admitted Saturday that it has lost confidential data belonging to 17 million T-mobile clients. The theft, in 2006, which is now subject to a judicial inquiry, involved telephone numbers, dates of birth, addresses and email addresses, subsidiary T-Mobile said in a statement.

Spokesman Frank Domagala said that bank details were not attached, and that “according to our information, even though these details have been put up for sale on the black market, there has not been a buyer.” source

Wouldn’t you get alarmed if you read this news article? OMG, this almost freak me out, no wonder the case of identity theft is growing dramatically. I can’t imagine the risk we get (hence our cell phone company who holds our personal, credit card/bank information are not reliable enough to guard it), that’s pretty much our life.

Now my question is, if you stop your account in this cell phone service provider, would they take off your personal info from their database? Or it will retain there? I know it’s (kind a) late because it already happened yet this just proved me that they are not reliable and cannot be trusted.

WHEW..

Lastly, I hope they get penalized for this huge failure.
