What’s your stand on PPP’s bloggers’ audit?

Posted on | September 11, 2008 |

Ok, I know the title is a bit ‘controversial’ but I didn’t read or hear about it until yesterday. Jackie did a little digging on IZEA’s blog and this is what she found -PPP is currently doing a blog audit.

Now, what is a blog audit? Well, according to them (PPP), they are examining (auditing) every blog they’ve approved recently or along time ago if this blog/s still bears high quality and high standard of the blog. I’m not sure the detailed info about the standard and quality but I’ll refer you to this article so you can read it too.

If the blog passes the audit, the blog will retain blogging for PPP. If it doesn’t pass the audit, it will be rejected and will not be allowed for re-submission.

Furthermore, they also said that they come up with this idea because of the feedbacks from the advertisers (those website/product owners who requested an exposure from the bloggers). They started the audit, last month (3rd week of August) and so far, base on the comments I’ve read from the post; there were numbers of bloggers that were already hit.

Scary huh? Ok, in a way, it is, because if your blog gets the rejection, you can’t re-submit it. It’s going to be a losing part in a bloggers end. I like and hate this audit issue.

I like it because the purpose is good. This will challenge the bloggers to be more creative and work more in their blogs rather than working/writing ‘because’ of the ‘paid ads’. Yet I also hate it because they should have been more strict during the bloggers application and they should have not approved the blogs that ‘do not’ qualify on their standard. Of course when you get the approval, you have this thinking that you were able to comply with the TOS or Guidelines then in the end, you’ll get the rejection. It hurts.

Remember TOS (Terms of Service), I’ve been very clear about TOS or TOA (Terms of Agreement) on a bloggers end. As a blogger, WE NEED TO READ THIS before locking us up in an agreement. TOS bears all the guidelines and rules of a certain website, if we read TOS earlier and we are aware and following the rules of the site; auditing/evaluation will not be a problem. If we did not, expect a rejection.

Anyway, I’d say good luck and God Bless to all of my blogger friends and visitors. We all work hard on our blogs and we’ll just cross our fingers to get the ‘hit’ exemption :D .
