August 20th, 2008:

He made me cry :-(

I am such a big fan of Denzel Washington and if given a chance, I’ll watch all of his movies. He’s a very good actor and tonight he made me cry :-( . I just finished watching “Man On Fire” and it was really a GOOD MOVIE.

The movie was old, it was released 2004, I’ve watched some parts of it way back before but I haven’t watched the entire movie. And while reserving assignments from PPP today, I’m also watching this movie.

Golly…I ended up crying when the movie ended :-( ..errrr :P

Nice plot and a really great movie. By the way, here’s an excerpt..in case you haven’t seen it:

A wave of kidnappings has swept through Mexico, feeding a growing sense of panic among its wealthier citizens, especially parents. In one six-day period, there were twenty-four abductions, leading many to hire bodyguards for their children. Into this world enters John Creasy (Denzel Washington), a burned-out ex-CIA operative/assassin, who has given up on life.

Creasy’s friend Rayburn (Christopher Walken) brings him to Mexico City to be a bodyguard to nine-year-old Pita Ramos(Dakota fanning), daughter of industrialist Samuel Ramos (Mark Anthony) and his wife Lisa (Radha Mitchell). Creasy is not interested in being a bodyguard, especially to a youngster, but for lack of something better to do, he accepts the assignment. Creasy barely tolerates the precocious child and her pestering questions about him and his life.

But slowly, she chips away at his seemingly impenetrable exterior, his defenses drop, and he opens up to her. Creasy’s new-found purpose in life is shattered when Pita is kidnapped. Despite being seriously wounded during the kidnapping, he vows to kill anyone involved in or profiting from the kidnapping. And no one can stop him.

So ebay changed their rules too?

So when they change the fees, it was also accompanied with changed or added rules? Hmmm, quite a businessman isn’t it? I haven’t read the new rules yet so I can’t say anything about it.

But for sure, most of the ebayers are stamping their feet as they don’t like it. I wonder what’s the new rules? I’ll digg it up later ;-)

Some people who sell things on eBay are fed up with new rules the company has been imposing in hopes of making the auction site more attractive to online shoppers. Now even more changes are coming in the next few weeks, but this time eBay Inc. hopes it can cool tempers.

Already this year, eBay has tinkered with its fee structure, search results and feedback system. These efforts might be meeting eBay’s aims of improving the experience for buyers, but several sellers say their relationship with eBay is worse than ever, and some have left the site entirely.

WordPress word count

I upgraded my wordpress yesterday and this 2.6.1 version is cool. I like it better than the previous update. Take a look at the image below, this new software upgrade includes word count.

That means that I don’t need MS word anymore to count the words for the assignments that I took. You know, word count is very important in writing article/s for paid post. There are certain minimum word count that you need to fill in order for your task to be approved.

This word count from wordpress took one of my burden away ;-) Cool huh?

149 dead in plane crash at Madrid airport

Such a sad news :-(

Smoke rises from the scene of the crash where a plane skidded off the runway and crashed at Madrid’s Barajas airport on August 20, 2008. (Paul Hanna/Reuters)

A Spanish airliner bound for the Canary Islands crashed, burned and broke into pieces Wednesday while trying to take off from Madrid’s Barajas airport, killing 149 people on board, officials said.

There were only 26 survivors in the mid-afternoon crash, a Spanish emergency official said.

A police officer said the bodies were so hot that police could barely touch them and told El Pais newspaper the shattered wreckage bore no resemblance to a plane.

Dozens of ambulances rushed to the site as columns of smoke billowed from the wreckage. The prime minister broke off his vacation in southern Spain and rushed back to Madrid, heading straight for the airport. source

American launches in-flight Internet on 3 routes

This is cool, I just hope that it wouldn’t cost a leg and an arm. I would prefer surfing the web rather than reading mags in the plane plus when the fight is 3 to 12 hours, geezz, for sure you will try to look for alternative than can keep you busy.

One of the few remaining Internet-free havens vanished Wednesday as American Airlines launched airborne e-mail, Web and other online services on some of its longer, nonstop flights.

The move could create a new stream of revenue for an aviation industry facing high fuel prices and other challenges. But it also could create new headaches as passengers retrieve sensitive e-mails and Web sites in confined quarters.

It also could end a common excuse people have to avoid checking “urgent” e-mail requests from their bosses. Unread magazines and books could now pile up as passengers devote their time aloft to electronic browsing.
