One of the many ordeals you’ll get if you’re a person who ‘eat and drink’ the internet is the constant lookout of internet connection when you’re out of town.
Going to a big city doesn’t guarantee an uptime ‘all the time’ internet connection not unless (of course) if you have the ‘on the go’ internet connection from Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and from any other internet service provider because they offer 24/7 internet connection.
When you say that there are cafe’s that are open 24/7 or hotels that offer FREE wifi, this doesn’t mean that ALL hotels and ALL cafe’s offer FREE wifi. Say for example, Starbucks. Starbucks doesn’t offer FREE wifi. We went to Starbucks earlier today to try and see if we can connect to any FREE wifi, but there’s none. The coffee is great though, no complain about it.
Yesterday when we were at Reno Nevada eating brunch, I tried powering up my laptop and see if there was any FREE wifi at the hotel and there was one BUT it’s not for FREE. The cost is $7.99 an hour. ARGH?!@$
I decided not too and I let go of my 2 assignment reservation ( I reserve it earlier when we were in our hotel, we had a free wifi in our hotel). It was not worth it.
Yet in all of the delimma I’ve been through, finding a public library came as the best option. Publics libraries in the US (mostly) offers FREE wifi and it’s fast. Even if the idea came late, it was still worth it. We are using the FREE wifi in Rancho Cordova’s (town located in Sacramento Ca) public library.

These pictures were taken yesterday, this was on our way back to Sacramento from Reno. The first picture was taken at Circus Circus buffet. the whole family ate brunch. Beside me is Latiana (my niece and her mom Liz).
The second picture was taken at Lake Tahoe. The beach is BEAUTIFUL…super. We’re planning on going back in Lake Tahoe and maybe spend a day or 2. There are hotels nearby the coast so it wouldn’t be a problem if we’ll stay there.
The third picture was taken at the chocolate factory. Oh boy, their chocolates taste so yummy and fresh. The one where I’m standing at is a chocolate…errrr..sorry I forgot..hehe.

The oil price did not really change that much even when the price per barrel went down a couple of days ago. We’re in CA right now and the price of gas per gallon is roughly $4.20. Back in our town in Alamogordo, it’s $3.63.
And here it goes…it’s soaring again..
Oil prices soared over $4 a barrel Wednesday, halting a dramatic two-week slide after a surprise drop in U.S. gasoline supplies fed speculation that record fuel prices aren’t keeping Americans off the roads.
But energy market analysts offered mixed views on whether prices would swing back toward record levels above $147 a barrel hit earlier this month or if Wednesday’s big rally was just a temporary bump.
Light, sweet crude for September delivery jumped $4.58 cents to settle at $126.77 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, after earlier rising as high as $127.39. It was crude’s biggest one-day rally since July 10, when prices ended $5.60 higher. Oil closed $2.54 lower on Tuesday at $122.19 a barrel.
The Energy Information Administration said in its weekly inventory report that U.S. gasoline supplies fell by 3.5 million barrels last week. Analysts surveyed by energy research firm Platts expected gas supplies to increase by 400,000 barrels. U.S. crude stockpiles also fell by 100,000 barrels last week, less than the 1.3 million barrels analysts had predicted.

This was taken a few hours ago when we stopped by in one of the rest stops going to Reno Nevada. Si makulit na asawa took a picture of me while I was configuring my phone connecting on Liz’s phone.
Syempre, pose to the max si ako right away..harhar. Anyway, I love this trip more than I love the trip going to Vegas. It was freaking HOT in Vegas. I almost dehydrated while we’re passing Hoover Dam on our way to Vegas few days ago.
Anyway, our trip was all worth it though. We’re having a great time in Cali right now.
Take a look at me and hubby goofing around in Max’s Chicken branch in Seafood City in Sacramento CA.
I was very happy seeing a whole bunch of fil foods again..hehe.ot to mention that I saw Red Ribbon, Chowking, Jolibee (tama ba spelling?) …namulaklak ang aking mga mata

That’s the finding in Mercer’s 2008 Worldwide Cost of Living Survey. Moscow tops the list with a score of 142.4, up 6% from last year–and 42% higher than New York, the most expensive city in the U.S. The Russian capital is followed by Tokyo; London; Oslo, Norway; and Seoul, South Korea.
New York fell from No. 15 to No. 22, thanks to the dollar’s protracted woes. Los Angeles is the second-priciest city in the U.S., but Hollywood’s denizens can’t cry poverty just yet: At No. 55, Los Angeles is cheaper than the best neighborhoods of Lagos, Nigeria (No. 30); Almaty, Kazakhstan (No. 44); and Zagreb, Croatia (No. 49).
“The decline in the ranking of all U.S. cities is due to the weakening value of the U.S. dollar against most major world currencies,” says Mercer’s Mitch Barnes, a principal at the firm. “The dollar has been declining steadily for the past several years, which has resulted in an overall decrease in the cost of living in 19 U.S. cities, relative to other major global cities studied.”

I don’t think I can afford to go to any of these cities..:-P , or probably until I can dig a bucket of gold..then I can afford to visit any of these ‘expensive cities’. Visiting for me means spending too, it doesn’t count the gas, the food, the hotel stay…I have to go shopping too
Haaayyy..I’ll be back, I need to make my millions
wahahaha..jowk

Jackie told me about them experiencing an earthquake earlier today and I was a little shock about it. And here it goes, it’s in the front page of yahoo news in only a couple of minutes. I hope that it didn’t leave any worst effect.
Here’s a clip from the article in yahoo:
LOS ANGELES – The strongest earthquake to strike a populated area of Southern California in more than a decade rattled windows and chandeliers, made buildings sway and sent people running into the streets on Tuesday. But there were no immediate reports of serious injuries or major damage.
The 5.4-magnitude quake — considered moderate — was felt from Los Angeles to San Diego, and as far east as Las Vegas, 230 miles away. Nearly 30 aftershocks quickly followed, the largest estimated at 3.8.
The quake was centered 29 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles near Chino Hills, a San Bernardino County city of 80,000 built mostly in the early 1990s with the latest in earthquake-resistant technology.
