I took another break from blogosphere again to spend time with my hubby. Yesterday, I took the test for the learner’s permit to drive and I passed it, YEHEY!! Yeah, I was so happy upon receiving my permit. The permit here in the US is a real driver’s license card, (way back in the Phils, its only a paper) but there is a RESTRICTED mark on the top. That’s fine, even up to now, I’m still nervous on driving in the road.
It was really a good news yesterday morning but when afternoon came,
bad news na. Our PC crashed, I tried recovering the files but it was badly damage so I wasn’t able to do so. Hubby and I learned our lessons, never neglect to back up any files as untoward incidents happen on the least we expect it. Whew, the last option we have is that we will try to bring it to shop and see if they can recover our files..
Our wedding pictures are gone
, I don’t mind my programs but our wedding pictures
.
I guess that’s life…

I had a full pack week again, I had my first celebration of the 4th of July and I was really stunned with the fireworks. IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL!
Hubby was so amused with my reaction
, well, it was incredible and it difinitely took my breath away. Yeah, I did took a picture but unfortunately I don’t know how to use his office camera (my fault, he told me to bring our digicam but I’ve totally forgotten it so we went to his office to use his office digicam) but I did tried and took some pictures.
Here it is:
Its beautiful isn’t it?
The next days was busy, I finished our AOS (Adjustment of Status) paperworks, made a lot of phone calls for my vaccination transfer. I made 9 phone calls before I’ve got the right office. It was a pain in our butt because some of the designated Civil Surgeon of the USCIS are not really familiar with the whole process..as I call it that way.
My Adjustment of Status only requires me to get a TD Shot and have it transfered to the I-693a Vaccination Supplemental Form. The first Civil Surgeon we went to, wants me to get the whole Physical Exam (kind a like what I had from St. Lukes in Manila). I find this ridiculous because –first thing, I can’t go through even the interview if I didn’t passed the medical exam. That’s basically one of the requirements. Second, they said that the USCIS doesn’t recognize the Medical Exam I had in my country –well, this is absurd and I don’t beleive any single word on this statement because why would they(USCIS) designate a certain hospital (in Manila) to get the medical test if they won’t recognize the medical results? I can get the test in Davao and it’ll be more comfy for me right? But I did not do so as they clearly emphasized in the Appointment Letter ( part in the packet 4) that I’ll get the whole Medical Exam at Saint Lukes in Manila.
In other words, we didn’t have that much luck on our first try..
But thank God, I found the office that knows the process. I was so happy that I called my hubby right away (He’s at work on that time). So we went there last friday, it’s in El Paso (Texas) to get my Vaccination Record transferred. Carlo and I couldn’t beleive on how smooth the process went, we arrived around 10 and finished after 10 minutes. We paid $25. I almost hug the receptionist..hehe.
We went to the SSN Office (SSN is SSS in Phils), to our surprise, they processed the changing of my single name to my married name. I said “WOW”! We had a hard time trying to change it the previous time we went to another SSN Office. And I admit its really a big relief on our side, the only thing I need to do is to wait for my SSN card after 2 weeks.
Now, everything is ready for my AOS application and hopefully I’ll get my greencard soon.

Hi everyone,
I was a little busy when my husband went back to work again, everything is knida ‘new’ and so i need to get a hang of it before I’ll take care of my ‘own’ stuffs. I love being a wife, it never fails to amaze me how things work from being a full time career person shifting to a full time housewife. It aint that easy, it’s a new field, new experience but I love being with my hubby and I love pampering him (so to speak).
The first day he went to work was like he was teaching me on how to do stuff’s; like what does he eat and drink and so on and so fort. The next day, I am the one who’s making his breakfast, it’s not perfect but at least he eat it (haha). Or does he has a choice? Uh uh, i’m not a chef but I sure can cook too.
On his first day at work, he kept on calling me at home, kept on checking on me. I was laughing at his reaction, after all, this is our house and I know my way ’round. But I know, he cares a lot.
The second, third …up to the last day at work, he calls like 3 times, just checking if I ate my lunch or if I’m bored or else to put it ‘cheesy’, he’ll call to say he misses me (ahem). Aint that great to have a special someone *winks*.
So that was it, our monday to friday was full pack of my first’s as a housewife and a house buddy.
Weekend came and we were busy, we had party invitations and so we went to each invitation. Saturday was his Squadron Picnic, I met lots of people and they are nice. It gives me a great feeling as they welcomed me with wide arms open. They understand the feeling of a ‘newcomer’, as they were once been there. And so they offered a ‘help’ to cheer me up. Thanks to all the wives at hubby’s work, I appreciate it.
Today is sunday and I and hubby went to the church this morning. You see, hubby and I has different sect; I’m a Roman Catholic and he is a Protestant. But I admire my hubby so much that he went to a catholic church with me. I can’t see any resentment to his actions (of course I’ll respect it if he says no). He even searched for the location and on how to get there (by the way, that’s how its always here in the US, whenever you’ll go somewhere, you need to have the driving direction with you or else EXPECT that you’ll get lost. But not unless you really know the place, places here are miles away from each other and also if it says north and you accidentally followed south then you’re in a HUGE MESS.)
I thanked him and I really appreciate it, I’ll give back the goodness next time. I told him we’ll go to his church next sunday.
So, we went to this Asian Party today (actually we just came from there). I was hesitant to go there but hubby assured me that they are nice and HE IS RIGHT. It’s really a mixture of Asian people; chinese, thailander, filipino, etc.. ( I can’t remember others). But they mingled with each other with no hold bar so its like I love to get into it. And so I did. We talk a lot of things and laugh with experiences we had, back in the Phils (Philippines) and some first impressions with anything. Thanks APIC, its really a great start off for me.
That is all for now, I will be uploading some pictures shortly and I am currently writing, on the experiences I had when I was doing my medical and interview; to give tips to other people who are taking it. Just hang in there and it’ll be available soon. I’ll provide some pictures too on how did I arranged my documents, cause the arranging of documents plays a great role during the interview.
Thanks for reading and I promise I’m back.
