April, 2007:

3rd day in Manila…

I have a tummy ache last night and until today. Whew! THat’s the price of eating street food.

Yesterday, I went to the hotel early since I was so tired with the whole medical test. While walking, I saw this little kiosk, they’re selling green mango (kana gud naay bagoong nga sauce or sili with suka). It looks yummy so i bought 1 pack (P20). While walking towards my hotel, I am eating it. To my surprise dili aslom ang mangga, tam-is hinoon. I finished eating it inside the hotel.

After eating, i changed clothes, brush teeth then head to bed (i have a headache too). When I got up around 6pm, nag-alburuto na ang akong tiyan. So I tried drinking lots of h20 kay aron mawala..i tried the water therapy.

I get back to bed again..around 12mn, my tummy ache woke me up, and i felt like throwing up. SO ningsuka jud ko, unya kahibalo ka unsa akong gisuka? Ang mangga nga akong gikaon..wa ko nahilisan, nagbutod pa gyud akong tiyan.

This morning i went here in Robinsons to buy med, and dili na gyud ko muusab. Cguro pud dili lang gyud makakaya akong tiyan..i cant say don’t eat street foods kay usahay mukaon man gyud ta ana but then be careful na lang kay lisod magsakit nga way ginikanan.

Update on my medical test at SLEC

My oh my..I didn’t know that getting my medical test is SOOOOO TIRING. Hindi ako nagrereklamo, but I only want to share lang po.

I and my roommates got up around 3 30am to prepare. we prepared and finished after an hour, walk going to Saint Lukes for 5 minutes and viola, marami ng nakapila. Maaga pala talaga silang nagbubukas.

We showed our appointment letter and our passport to the guard and he gave us a number and the PDS forms (Patient Data Sheet forms). After filling up the forms, we ate outside SLEC, gutom na and its around 5 30 in the morning. After awhile we went back to our hotel room and got back to SLEC after an hour.

Pila dito, pila dun…kuha ng test..pila ulit, kuha ng result…pila ulit…and so on. Yan ang ginawa namin buong maghapon. Until the immunization interview….mga around 3pm na this time.

Sabi ni Doc, get back here on monday for your immunization shots…sabi ko, haaay salamat..drain na drain na kasi ako at this time.

Test to undergo:

-xray

-urine/blood test

-eye test

-vital signs

-height and weight

- physical exam

-immunization

Hindi naman ganun kadami ang gagawing test BUT because of the volume of people who are getting those tests, dun ang nakakabagal…

My first day in Manila..a lil homesick

I’m in Manila now, I arrived here around 5pm yesterday. I like flying with Cebu Pacific, they’re always on time (base on my own experience and what I’ve heard from friends). Ate Deng (our Manila agent from my previous work) pick me in the airport and we rode a taxi going to the hotel. Thank ate deng, that was so nice of you. And thanks to Maam Feym, Sir Bob (the whole family), Glenn..everyone, for being so supportive.

I had a little homesick last night in my hotel, I miss home, I miss my nephews. The room is too big for me. I didn’t know the hotel’s single room is SOOO spacious. It has 2 beds, 1 dining area, 1 living room, kitchen and of course bathroom. But that was really huge or maybe I assess it like that because I’m alone :) .

I felt relieved after talking my nanay, to Carlo and texting some special people in my life. Usahay kung mabigla ta. murag makuratan pud ta sa mga panghitabo. I slept around 12mn last night.

Ohh by the way, its so EXPENSIVE here..my oh my. The taxi doesn’t turn on their meters, they’ll give you a fixed price. I bargained from 400 to 250, susme..ang lapit ng airport, if i’ll compare it to Davao the fare would be likely P70 lang. But as you see, do i have a choice? Kaya nag-bargain na lang ako :-) . Actually, Ate Deng says we can ride a jeepney and its only P14 for the two of us..but I was too tired to go for that. I slept late from the previous night (tsika tsika with glenn).

I went to have a lil grocery shop at Robinsons Mall, I just walked and explored the place a little bit. Well, I ended up eating at Jolibee again (gikapoy na ko kaon sa jolibee..sa sunod adlaw ani, di na ko matingala nga duna na koy pako), I’ve got no choice as I’m still getting a feel of the place (basi’g mahal pa lang akong masudlan, mao nay gidangat).

This morning, I went here at Robinsons again (10 minute walk from my hotel), to go online…si Carlo ninghangyo nga mag-chat mi :-D . GINOO KO!!! Makalibat ang presyo. P70 per hour. Davao and Gensan prices ranges from P10 to P35 pero hour, grabe kaau, doble o triple gyud. But the question again is, do I have a choice?!

I’ll just make use of my time na lang and enjoy the moment, anyway, seeing Carlo halfway round the globe is PRICELESS.

That’s it for now. Tomorrow, I’m going to get my medical test, Saint Lukes Extension Clinic is just a 5 minute walking distance from my hotel. Magbaklay ra ko kauban akong mga roommates ugma kadlawon puhon.

Gonna be flying soon…

I arrived safe and sound in Davao City last night and thanks to my boss, I sleep here in their house. I miss everyone in the house. I slept around 1 in the morning, glenn and I were catching on the days we haven’t communicated.

I woke up around 8 in the morning, and I don’t understand what I felt. Excited, nervous and a little scared..scared of what? I dunno..
I got a text from one of the girls in a certain forum, she asked me what time would I arrive in Manila today. She wants to meet me in Manila and I thanked her for being supportive, and a single text means a lot to me recently. Carlo is getting paranoia, he’s scared of my safety being alone in what he called ‘big city’. But I’ll be ok, I can make my way around.

Time to eat my lunch now, I need to be at the airport 2 hours prior to my departure for check in..my flight is at 3 55pm today. Wish me luck, please pray for me and thanks for reading and visiting my home.

I’ll post again when I get to Manila..love yah!

Hahay, lisod gyud ning kinamanghuran

I’m heading back to Davao this afternoon, I’m excited as well as nervous. One more day to go and I’ll fly to manila then have my medical test on the next day..time flies so fast..

I saw some sadness on my parents eyes, they had a hard time letting me go…letting go of their ‘unica hija’. In fairness, I’ve never been a butthead to them, I love my parents so much. I guess that’s why until now I’m still a baby for them. I will always be a baby to them, can you imagine my nanay would still check if i eat on time..well, I’m only 27 years old lang naman :-D .

Carlo would always tell them that they will never lost me, infact there’s an addition with the family, they have a new son. To be honest, Carlo and I had a hard time explaining and making my parents understand.

Hahay, lisod gyud ning kinamanghuran.. ( *Sigh*, its hard to be the youngest in the family).

But they accepted Carlo, I know they will love him as much as they do to me..i’ll just give them time.

Another turning point of my life

I’ve been so busy again lately, finishing my school and work obligations; it drained me up.

I had a mixed emotion during my last day of work last week. I’ve been working with my boss’s for years already and it pains me to go, I’ll miss them, I’ll miss everybody. They become so special in my life, they are my second family..it’s really hard to say goodbye. I swear I can never forget them..I’ll just keep in touch. On the other way around, I’m happy too cause Carlo and I had been waiting for my appointment at USE…of course we want to be together. Quite a wonderful life I have, and I’m so thankful, I have special people who loved me and cared for me inspite and despite of my shortcomings…you bet I’m so lucky huh?

Last week after resigning from work, I had been moving my stuffs from Davao to GenSan, I had 3 trips to completely moved my stuffs out. Whew, 6 years of living here in Davao is quite long isn’t it? I have good memories in Davao and wherever I go, I will always go back to Davao. I love Davao :-) .

I’ve also been reviewing all my papers for my incoming medical/interview next week, I need to make sure that I have everything prepared before I go to Manila..and so far, the only thing that is lacking is the pinted tab for my papers.

This coming tuesday, I’m heading back to Davao again for my flight to Manila this wednesday. I’m ready with my incoming med and interview and I’m praying everything will flow smoothly.

Thanks for reading and thanks for visiting my home.
