It’s all about parenthood

November 21st, 2006 | 2 Comments | Posted in Opinion

– If it was going to be easy, it never would have started with something called labor!you got male

– Shouting to make your children obey is like using the horn to steer your car, and you get about the same results.

– The smartest advice on raising children is to enjoy them while they are still on your side.

– Avenge yourself — live long enough to be a problem to your children.

– The best way to keep kids at home is to give it a loving atmosphere ~~ and hide the keys to the car.

– Parents: People who bare infants, bore teenagers, and board newlyweds.

– The joy of motherhood: What a woman experiences when all the children are finally in bed.

– Life’s golden age is when the kids are too old to need babysitters and too young to borrow the family car.

– Any child can tell you that the sole purpose of a middle name is so he can tell when he’s really in trouble.

– Grandparents are similar to a piece of string ~ handy to have around and easily wrapped around the fingers of grandchildren.

– There are three ways to get something done: Do it yourself, hire someone to do it, or forbid your children to do it.

– Adolescence is the age when children try to bring up their parents.

– Cleaning your house while your kids are at home is like trying to shovel the driveway during a snowstorm.

– Oh, to be only half as wonderful as my child thought I was when he was small, and half as stupid as my teenager now thinks I am.

– Adolescence is the age at which children stop asking questions because they know all the answers.

– An alarm clock is a device for awakening people who don’t have small children.

I got this in my inbox this morning and viola, it made me smile. I am one of those many who’s just starting weaving the next phase of life and dream. Few months from now, I’m gonna be starting a new chapter..I always have this mix emotion. But I’m always thankful to Carlo (my fiance), his love eases every fear I’m feelin, lahat nawawala, the feeling of security and the assured love; feels like ‘ako ang pinakamagandang babae sa balat ng lupa’ haha.

I’m inspired by the words I clipped above, alam mo yung excited ka to experience those things, I remember this promise…‘To have and to hold..For richer and for poorer..Till death do us part’

This made my day :-).

Undiscovered paradise in the orient

Cinco Maso Mystique- Mati Davao Oriental
The beautiful Cinco Masao Mystique beach resort in Mati Davao Oriental.

A clipping from wowdavao.com:

Cinco Maso Mystique beach resort- Mati Davao OrientalIt was nine in the evening, and sitting in one of the cottages of Cinco Masao Beach Resort, with the tranquility of the sea breeze, and the coldness of the wind was an exceptionally awesome experience. Such experience compensated the 15-20 minutes and 14 kilometers travel from the center of Mati, passing through typical barrio houses and coconut trees.

The travel was even more magnificent, witnessing the mighty sun settting, and the clouds slowly and eventually covering its might. Endowed with the grandeur and majesty of nature , Cinco Masao remains mysterious, and deserves a very good unraveling of its humble pre-beginnings, a glimpse of the present, and a vision of tomorrow.

A clip from Inq7.Net:

Filipino Manny Pacquiao lived up to his famous monickers “The Pacman” and “Pambansang Kamao” (National Fist) when he knocked out Mexico’s Erik Morales in the third round of their final rivalry at the Thomas and Mack Center here.It was a quick and brutal end for Mexico’s El Terrible after Pacquiao stopped him two minutes and 57 seconds into the third round, leaving the three-time world champion seated on the canvas and shaking his head, saying he did not want to continue.

Congratulations Manny Pacquiao. Saludo kami sa’yo!

US panel demands China pay for copyright piracy

November 18th, 2006 | No Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

WASHINGTON — The United States should sue China at the WTO over rampant copyright abuses, and ban US Internet companies from revealing their users’ identities to Beijing, a top panel said Thursday.

The US-China Economic and Security Review Commission, a bipartisan panel of experts appointed by Congress, issued its recommendations in a hard-hitting annual report that notably took China to task over North Korea’s nuclear drive.

On the economic front, the experts said Congress should urge the administration “to press ahead aggressively with a WTO case against China for its manifest failures to enforce intellectual property rights (IPR).”

It also recommended that “Congress prohibit disclosure by US companies to the Chinese government, in the absence of formal legal action by the Chinese government, of information about Chinese users or authors of online content.”

Internet search rivals unite to make websites easier to find

SAN FRANCISCO — Internet search rivals Google, Yahoo and Microsoft formed an unusual alliance on Thursday to support a shared standard regarding how websites are pinpointed for their indexes.

The “joint initiative” was intended to make it easier for webmasters, or website creators, to let Internet search engines know what their online pages contained, according to Google.

Search engines could use the information gathered in the “web crawl” process to better tailor results for their users.

Yahoo and Microsoft announced they would each support Google’s “Sitemaps 0.90″ protocol instead of using different standards for submissions by webmasters.

“The launch of Sitemaps is significant because it allows for a single, easy way for websites to provide content and metadata to search engines,” said Yahoo Search director of product management Tim Mayer.

“Sitemaps helps webmasters surface content that is typically difficult for crawlers to discover, leading to a more comprehensive search experience for users.”

Si Tatay..

November 13th, 2006 | 1 Comment | Posted in Opinion

I have a pretty long weekend last week.

I filed a 1 day leave to go home in GenSan kasi bertdey ng Nanay ko. I love you nanay, mahal na mahal kita. happy birthday!

It was a great short vacation I had.

It’s been a long time since I visited him kaya pumunta kaming mag-anak sa kanya. It was so peaceful on the cemetery (syempre mga patay lahat eh, di talaga maingay), kidding aside, ang gaan gaan ng pakiramdam ko. When he passed away 2 tears ago, it felt like my world collapsed.

I’m a typical lolo’s girl, and I love him so much.

With that simple gesture, I adore my father so much. I felt how much he love my Nanay..how much he love us.

Daddy, how was I born?

November 8th, 2006 | 6 Comments | Posted in Opinion

Here’s an icebreaker I’ve got from a friend, It’s funny…try giving it a read.

A little boy goes to his father and asks “Daddy, how was I born?”
The father answers: “Well son, I guess one day you will need to find out
anyway!

Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe.

We sneaked into a secluded room, where your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit the delete button, nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said:
